Harald Halberg Tobacco Factories Inc. was founded in 1887, taking over an existing tobacco factory in Svenborg since 1826. It can therefore be said that behind the current production there is a tradition and experience of over 150 years. Since then, the activity of the Danish company, known all over the world for its tobaccos under the name of Mac Baren, has marked continuous growth and gradual expansion.
After establishing itself on the domestic market, the production of Mac Baren tobaccos began to turn abroad towards the end of the fifties. First on the Scandinavian market and then on the other European markets, then in America, Australia and other non-European areas.
However, Europe remains the main market and Italy, where the Mac Baren appeared for the first time in 1973, has a prominent place in this context.
Among the most interesting and popular tobaccos we mention:
The Navy Flake (available in tin). It is a Burley, Virginia and Cavendish based flake pressed and stored for weeks before being cut into slices and the pressing process guarantees a slow combustion.
Scaferlati Caporal, originally produced by Seita, is a natural tobacco based on Burley and Kentucky.
The St. Bruno Flake is a blend of smooth Virginia and dark Kentucky smoked, pressed and sliced into thin flakes that are easy to prepare and enjoy.
